Living Refreshed
La Menta was inspired by Pietro Aiello who was a significant presence in the Commercial Drive community. Remembered as a big-hearted and kind man, he was always looking for ways he could extend a hand and help his neighbours out. If he ever encountered an older woman walking with bags, he would take them for her and walk her home. He would go by elder’s houses and get their grocery lists and then did their shopping for them. Nothing could stop him (even icy treacherous weather), he always made sure to take care of the seniors.
Pietro and his daughter Rose always dreamed of the day that a multi-family home would sit on this land so that more people could live and enjoy this wonderful community and vibrant neighbourhood. Now, almost 40 years after they purchased it, his dream is coming true through the development of these fresh new family homes.
We think we all could use a Pietro mindset these days, don’t you think?
